General Rules 1. The silent auction will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, 25 June and end at 8:45 pm Saturday, 26 June 2004. 2. Bidders will use their name on the bid sheets when participating in the auction. Please write clearly. 3. All items in the silent auction have an Item Number and a Bid Sheet attached or affixed nearby with a minimum starting bid for that item listed on the top line. 4. If there are any restrictions on the item, they will be listed in the description section or other material nearby. Please read this carefully before you bid. 5. Each bid is a contract to complete the purchase at the close of the auction. If you are the winner, you are obligated to pay the full bid amount. 6. Payment by the successful bidder must be made immediately following the item's sale. Payment may be made with cash or check. Payment must be made in full at the end of the auction. 7. All sales are final and no exchanges, substitutions or refunds will be honored unless specifically indicated in the item description. Bidding Rules 1. The first bidder on each item must open with a bid equal to or greater than the minimum bid listed on the bid sheet. 2. To place a bid for an item, bidders simply print their name, and the amount of the bid, on the next available line of that bid sheet. 3. Bid raises must be in whole dollar amounts in increments as designated on the individual bid sheets. Bids will be disqualified if the required minimum raise is not met. 4. Each bid placed on the sheet is legally binding and cannot be crossed off or erased. Only the auctioneer may nullify a bid. 5. Bid sheets cannot be removed from their designated places, except by authorized persons. 6. Fifteen minutes prior to the closing of the auction, an announcement will be made to notify of closing. 7. Bidding may continue on any item until the item's bid sheet is collected. If anyone is writing a bid when the bid sheet is being collected, that bid will be allowed. 8. The highest bid written on the bid sheet when the bid sheets are finally collected constitutes the winning bid, as long as the Bidder Name and bid amount are legible and meet the requirements. 9. In the event of an illegible bid or a dispute, the official auctioneer will act as the final authority and will determine the winning bidder. His decision will be final. 10. To confirm the winner, the auctioneer will circle and initial the final bid. 11. Decision to sell at less than the minimum bid is made by the donor of the item. 12. The winners name and winning bid amount will be posted in front of each corresponding item. In the event of a dispute, the Silent Auction Committee shall have the sole and final decision in determining the winning bid. Checkout: Please be patient! 1. Payment in full is required at the end of the auction, Saturday, 26 June 2004. 2. Should the successful bidder not pay for the item this evening, the item may be awarded to the next highest bidder at the discretion of the auction officials. 3. Winning bidders should obtain a copy of their bid sheet from the auctioneer then proceed to the Registration Desk to pay for their items. (Cash, Traveler's Check or Personal Check) 4. Both the volunteer at the Registration Desk and the bid winner must initial paid receipt to confirm that the item has been paid for. Both the Auctioneer and bid winner must initial the final Bid Sheet to confirm that the item has been transferred and/or picked up. 5. All items must be paid for and removed at the close of the event. The Reunion is not responsible for shipping. Alternate pickup may be arranged through the donor of the item. Restrictions 1. Please read the displays and bid sheets carefully for restrictions, limitations, and expiration dates. Values indicated for some items are estimates only and are not warranted by The EHS Reunion Committee and the Reunion Committee makes no representation or warranties of any kind with respect to any items, services, accommodations or events purchased. 2. It is the responsibility of the successful bidder to make contact with the donors as specified on the certificates. Dates and times must be cleared with the donors. All dates and times are by mutual agreement. The EHS Reunion committee assumes no liability for any injuries to buyers arising from the purchase or use of any auction items. 3. Some items, especially travel, require advance reservations and do not include travel costs to the location. Unless otherwise stated, all auction items and services must be used within the expiration date identified.
