"The family was probably from nobility since only nobility used a crest in their coat of arms. The use of leopards also indicates a high station in life being just below lions which were the highest. The color selection indicates that the family was noble (red), generous (gold) and trustworthy (blue). It is intriguing to me that this coat of arms might have been used during one of the Crusades eight hundred years ago or by a member of our family in some ancient jousting tournament. Imagine that Le Cu of Normandy might have used these arms when he joined William the Conqueror in 1066 for the invasion of England."
